Winter Parking
Plainview City Code 304.2 Winter Parking:
Subd. 1. To protect the citizen's general health, safety and welfare and to facilitate snow removal, it shall be unlawful to park, or permit any vehicle or trailer to remain parked, upon any alley or street from November 1st to April 1st between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. or until streets are plowed from curb to curb during or following any snow fall which accumulates over two (2) inches.
Subd. 2. In the event of a continuous and/or substantial snowfall, a citywide "snow emergency" may be declared by the Public Works Director or his/her designee. It shall be unlawful to park on any city street during the time in which a snow emergency has been declared, until such time as the snow emergency is rescinded.
* The city will keep the parking lot at the municipal pool open during the winter months for citizens to park their vehicles if they are unable to find a place off the street to park their vehicles during snow removal.*
When will ticketing begin?
During or following any snow fall which accumulates over two (2) inches, tagging enforcement will begin at 2:00 a.m.
In the event that a citywide "snow emergency" is declared, tagging enforcement will begin immediately.
